Purpose of Role:

We are seeking to hire a Full-time Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant for the firm’s Roseland, NJ office. In this role, the Litigation Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to a group of the firm’s Attorney.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting data
  • Review and verify correspondence, reports, and legal documents
  • Draft letters and documents
  • Draft motions, briefs, table of contents, table of authorities and other litigation documents
  • Maintain attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, depositions, and travel
  • Record and monitor court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering and deadlines
  • E-file both via NJ eCourts as well as Federal Pacer
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of (3) years related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience e-filing in both State (NJ/NY) and Federal courts
  • Working knowledge of NetDocuments or similar document management application
  • Experience using SurePoint or similar billing software experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word and Outlook as well as an ability to quickly learn other applications
  • Knowledge of digital dictation preferred
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to prioritize work and manage workflow
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment with great efficiency and accuracy
  • Work successfully in a team environment
  • Polished, professional and ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and concisely

Working Conditions:

  • This position works in a professional office environment and is required to sit for prolonged periods of time using a computer and telephone.
