Mike Bevacqua is a talented and tenacious trial lawyer with a tireless work ethic, who has successfully represented clients in litigation throughout the United States.

A substantial part of Mike’s practice is devoted to high net worth matrimonial matters (Chair of the Firm’s New York matrimonial practice group), complex commercial litigation, business litigation, and bank litigation. Mike has significant experience successfully defending business entities and individuals in enforcement actions brought by governmental agencies.

In addition, Mike is an accomplished personal injury attorney, regularly securing significant recoveries for his clients, including many settlements in excess of one million dollars.

Mike was selected by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the “New Leaders of the Bar”* (f/k/a “40 Under 40”). The New Jersey Law Journal’s “New Leaders of the Bar,” a special edition magazine published on July 29, 2013, featured 50 lawyers, all under the age of 40, who are emblematic of the next wave of leadership of the New Jersey Bar, based on their outstanding achievements so far in their careers, which clearly distinguish these individuals among their peers and signal greater accomplishments ahead.

Mike was named a New Jersey Super Lawyers “Rising Star*” in the field of business litigation for 8 consecutive years, beginning in 2007 and each year thereafter that he remained age-eligible for this distinction. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, Mike was selected as a Super Lawyer in the field of Business Litigation. He was chosen for membership into The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 under 40 institute, which is comprised of the country’s top trial attorneys under the age of 40. In addition, he was selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyers in the State of New Jersey.  He was recently selected as one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators.*

Appellate Division Victory by Commercial and Corporate Litigation Partners Brian Block and Michael Bevacqua

Mandelbaum Barrett PC Commercial and Corporate Litigation partners Brian Block and Michael Bevacqua prevailed on appeal on behalf of our clients in a complex insurance dispute against an insurance company. The Appellate Division vacated summary judgment and several discovery orders that the trial court had entered in favor of the insurance company and remanded to the trial court.

Michael Bevacqua and Brian Block Receive Favorable Judgement on Behalf of National Bank Client

We are pleased to announce that attorneys Michael Bevacqua and Brian Block recently prevailed in the New York Appellate Division, First Department, on behalf of their national bank client. The appeals court affirmed summary judgment in favor of the bank, resulting in the complete dismissal of the plaintiff general contractor's six-figure claim against the bank for payment of two checks related to a construction project in New York City.

Litigation Department Obtains $6.7 Million Award On Behalf Of Client

February 14, 2019

On February 14, 2019, Michael Saffer, Co-Chair of the Firm's Litigation Department and Arla D. Cahill, a Member of that Department, obtained an award of $6.7 million in a complex commercial arbitration proceeding before the American Arbitration Association in New York City in which they represented an anesthesiology group that asserted numerous claims against a surgery center. The Arbitrator, following 10 days of hearings with numerous witnesses and hundreds of trial exhibits created by our team, awarded the entire amount requested in the Demand for Arbitration.
