At Mandelbaum Barrett PC, we’ve long known that Member Casey Gocel is among the best young attorneys in New Jersey. We’re pleased to announce that the New Jersey Law Journal agreed when it recently selected Casey as one of its 2016 New Leaders of the Bar.

The honor, formerly known as the “40 Under 40,” recognizes top attorneys under the age of 40 whom have achieved expertise in their respective practice areas, whom are leaders in their fields, and whose command of the law have been acknowledged by their peers and clients as exceptional. Having two of only a few dozen Leaders of the Bar selected throughout New Jersey confirms that Mandelbaum Barrett PC is positioning itself well for the future.

“Casey’s inclusion on this prestigious list is a result of their tireless efforts, their knowledge of the law, and their dedication to their clients,” said William Barrett, the firm’s co-CEO. “All of us who have worked with her recognize fully how deserving she is of this honor.”

Casey, who specializes in corporate transactions, taxation and estate planning, was named a member of the Firm after just seven years as an associate, and is one of the youngest partners in the 85-year history of the Firm. Her practice is focused on business mergers and acquisitions, federal and state income taxation of individuals and corporate entities, sophisticated estate and family wealth transfer planning, asset protection planning, and exempt organizations.

“Casey has developed into an exceptional lawyer, the proof of which is in the feedback the Firm receives from her clients – some of the oldest and most important clients in the Firm,” said Barrett. “She personifies the independent thinking and entrepreneurial spirit we want from our attorneys.”

Prior to being named a member, Casey was the only associate to chair a committee within the Firm, with responsibility for the Pro Bono Committee. She is also active in helping plan and implement firm-wide marketing and educational activities and is one of the leaders of the Firm’s “Women’s Initiative,” a program to foster marketing efforts for the Firm’s female attorneys.
